NIGER/DELTA AVENGERS: THE FUTILITY OF THEIR VIOLENT ATTACK....... By Dotun George

Niger/Delta Avengers and other militant groups claimed they are fighting for and are protecting the interest of Niger/Delta people. But your actions and deeds everyday degraded the people of Niger/Delta more, run down their means of livelihood, and leave them worthless and deprived.
People complained of deprivation, by your criminal acts, you deprived them more of the basic amenities because the inadequate ones that was on ground was destroyed and vandalized by you.

Your People complained of oil spillage, yet by your actions of vandalism and blowing up the oil and gas line, you spill more oil that will be devastating to your health, life, environment and the whole entity of your life survival. Is that not the highest level of insanity?

Your people complained of poverty and misery of life, by your attacks you destroyed their source of income which is the land for farming and rivers for fishing. Is that not madness? When will this madness stopped?

More money was voted for Ministry of Niger/Delta, and NDDC. More than that, all the Governors from Niger/Delta collect more allocation than any other regions, the immediate past president Goodluck Jonathan was from the Niger/Delta. Unfortunately, nothing tangible was done with all the opportunities that come with the largesse accrued to you. The militants and Avengers did not hold any of their leaders and traditional elders accountable but resulted in impoverishing the lives of the people of Niger/Delta more and increase their misery and suffering. Are sensible or senseless?

What exactly did your Governors, representatives and Senators did with the huge allocations and largesse accrued to them? The first set of people to attack first, hold responsible and accountable are your political and traditional leaders who are doing business with your resources and destiny.

Your violence and criminality will not and never will it proffer solutions to your predicament, neither will it make your economic life better and improve your lots. Change the strategy, it might work in the past, it is not going to work this time around. Violence has not solve any problem and it will never solve any now. Engage your brain, engaging the stakeholders and doing the needful will help you in getting better results than criminality and violence.

Asari Dokubo, Atekete Tom, Tompolo and others were once in the path you are in now, claiming to be fighting for the people of Niger/Delta. What happened when a bait of amnesty was sold to them by Yar Adua and Goodluck Jonathan, they embraced it and overnight become billionaires, flying in private jets and the conditions of the people they claimed they are fighting for has not changed. Can you people read between lines now and discover your real enemies?
